Mise en Abyme.

International Journal of Comparative Literature and Arts.

Vol. I, Issue 1. January/June 2014

The monographic section of the first issue is devoted to Pier Paolo Pasolini, a multifaceted author whose work encompasses a wide spectrum of arts – literature, film and theatre –, therefore making him an ideal reference for comparative studies. Because of his position as a prominent European intellectual with an interdisciplinary approach, Pasolini’s work has been understood and reinvented by several artists globally. For this reason, in this issue, we have chosen to put him in the ‘background’ in order to analyse the connections between his production and the one of his contemporaries, as well as of the following generations.
